REVIEW

It was really nice to revisit something that I read back in middle school. I had a friend who would read Manga and would let me read after her (special shout out to Ande for the intro which has lead to my love of graphic novels and appreciation for Asian culture that has grown deep over these many years!). It felt a little like stepping back in time with an old friend. It definitely wasn’t 30 years ago, but it was long enough that this was like taking the way-back machine to a time before smartphones.

The story still holds up, although there were definitely a few parts I had forgotten, like the teacher in the art room, but it’s where we all became fascinated by Rei. The characters are loveable with many layers and there is so much that happens in just this first volume. I hope I get the chance to revisit the rest of the series!
