REVIEW

Having read and loved the novel, this illustrated version was absolutely beautiful and brought the coziness to a brand new sense and reiterated why this book lead the cozy fantasy wave. Consider me a surfer. I love cozy fantasy and the color palette and layout really brought that feeling in on a deeper level. It also stays true to the original!

This was also a refresher for me on how great this story is. Low stakes fantasy centered around coffee and new beginnings? Yes please. I love a good fantasy, but if you’ve ever been like me and wanted to experience what happens after Smaug or the return from Mordor, this gives you the satisfaction that there is a potential for a fulfilling life after adventure.
